My producer Evan and myself discuss the 1st annual Duke's World Emmy's. We figure out all the catagories and then the nominations for each of the awards.
Elaine Vigil has been sticking her head into the OC open mic scene, debating to herself if she wants to give comedy a try. I wanted to interview her because she has a very colorful story regarding her upbringing as a ward of the state. She was in a bunch of foster homes and adopted 3 times, she's lived through incredible circumstances! This interview could have been depressing but what I see is the makings of what could be a great comic. I hope you go for it Elaine, I think you'll be awesome!
Mark and I sit down in the lobby of the nut job hotel located in Lake Forest and discuss all things that are comedy. He won the OC's funniest person contest and I've known Mark since I started, I've always thought he had a great presence on stage and always find him funny!
Connor McSpadden has the mind of a great comic and what seems to be the work ethic to back it up. He's also a good sport because he went with the flow as we sat in the Lobby of Bill Word's open mic hotel and allowed the strangeness that is that place to ensue.
I sat alone in my bedroom and talked to myself about how my career is skyrocketing. If you want to get my good vibes to rub off on you I suggest listening!
Sidenote: Stone Pablo got on the podcast.
Jake Adams is the man behind the camera on the Duke's World web series. Evan and I talk to Jake about his mom who's a comic and his Dad who is a film director. I brought up some tension I was sensing from Jake during the time we spent filming and I think we were able to understand each other a little better after talking about it. Jake, Evan and I are also members of the character comic alliance so we also had our characters come out and say a few words.
Jeremy and I went to high school together, didn't really see each other for 20 years, and then started hanging out again. He's extremely talented, funny, and highly motivated to do this comedy thing. I sat down with Jeremy and his comedy partner Justin Brusca for an entertaining conversation on comedy, friendship, and drugs. It's a must listen!
Evan Cassidy as always producing the f@$k out of this.
Once again I'm backstage at the encore theater and this time I hang out with my friend Bill Howie. We both are nervous before our set. Did we kill? Did we bomb? Who won? LISTEN!!!!
History is made! Evan, the Godfather of Orange County comedy has given his blessing and allowed Adam Hastings to be apart of the comedy alliance. Adam Hastings is one of the most talented comedians in Orange County, listen to my fun conversaition with a future great.
